Moisture content is the most crucial factor to consider when selecting firewood. Wood with high moisture content can be difficult to ignite and burns inefficiently, resulting in increased smoke production. Moreover, burning wet wood has been shown in studies to be even more detrimental to air quality than burning coal and peat briquettes, with pollution levels approaching that of burning turf.

At The Dry Firewood Company, we prioritise quality and sustainability. Our kiln-dried hardwood is carefully processed to achieve a moisture content of just 10-15%. This low moisture level ensures that our firewood ignites easily and burns cleanly, providing you with a more efficient heating experience. By choosing our firewood, you not only enjoy a warm and inviting atmosphere in your home but also contribute to a cleaner environment.

For all orders, we have a standard delivery method in place. Please note that this service does not include unloading or storage. Delivery is complete once the product is dropped off in a safe location at the specified address and signed for by you or your representative.

We conduct most deliveries in the Greater Belfast and County Down area using a 7.5 tonne lorry; for deliveries further afield, we work with a carrier that uses an 18 tonne lorry. If you have concerns about access for larger vehicles, please contact us before placing your order.

All pallet deliveries are carried out with a hand pallet truck, which cannot operate on gravel or chipping driveways. Please inform us in advance if your driveway has such surfaces to avoid delays.
